Fraser Shilling is a researcher in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at
UC Davis investigating improved ways to use environmental data to inform decision making,
and was the lead author of the California Watershed Assessment Manual. He
received his PhD from the University of Southern California in aquatic ecology and has
spent the last 15 years at UC Davis. In 2007, the California Department of Water
Resources funded 6 projects throughout the state to develop regional report card systems
that evaluated environmental, social, and economic condition, at the watershed scale.
Fraser is closely involved with 3 of these projects and facilitates communication among
the projects. In this webinar, he will describe the advances in report card development
that these regional projects are making and how California could use this system for
integrated whole system reporting to the public and decision-makers.
