Here at Wholly H2O, we are fanatics about tying water reuse practices to data. The problem is, when it comes to rainwater and graywater, there has been very little focus or funding available to create the vital data needed to make good management choices. Fortunately, at least when it comes to rainwater, there is a lot of research being done on rainwater’s flip side, stormwater (rainwater allowed to run amok without onsite management). Here’s some information about an international stormwater database.
“The BMP Database is a long-term, publically available research database that contains results of stormwater BMP studies independently conducted and provided by researchers throughout the US and several other countries. Along with the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF), cosponsors of the International Stormwater BMP Database are the American Society of Civil Engineers/Environmental & Water Resources Institute (ASCE/EWRI), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the USEPA, and the American Public Works Association.” (Stormwater)
