SUMMARY:East Bay Creek Restoration
DESCRIPTION:East Bay Creek Restoration: How it’s going now – Panel Conversation\nhttps://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/east-bay-creek-restoration-how-its-going-now-panel-conversation \n\n\n\nPlease join Wholly H2O and many present-day creek warriors at Part 2 Panel Conversation\, “SF East Bay Creek Restoration: How it’s going now.” \nWatershed Map\, Alameda County Public Works \nMany folks living in the SF East Bay have no idea that we are laden with creeks streaming westward from the East Bay Hills\, that created a vast floodplain that is now “the flats.” But\, for the most part these creeks are invisible both physically and in our imagination. \nThe Watershed Project \nThose of us working on creek education and restoration in Alameda County are standing on the shoulders of those who started their work in the 1980s\, many represented in our Panel 1 -“SF East Bay Creek Restoration: How it started” on April 8\, from 7-9 pm. \nIn this panel conversation\, those leading the way in the present-day creeks movement will discuss the status of our creeks’ health\, the needs\, approaches\, and the alliances we have built between us (or need to build). \nModerator: Josh Bradt – Urban Streams Partnership  \n\nDr. Elizabeth Dougherty – Wholly H2O (Strawberry; Temescal; Sausal; Glen Echo)\nBruce King\, Ann Maris – Friends of San Lorenzo Creek\nAnn Graham\, Michael Gregory – Friends of San Leandro Creek\nSadie McGarvey – Friends of Cortland Creek\nKate Berlin – Friends of Sausal Creek\nTim Pine -UC Creeks Dept\, Strawberry Creek\nJuliana Gonzales – The Watershed Project\, Wildcat Creek\nMore coming soon\n\nThis group has never assembled together before\, nor even met one another in many cases. It’s an historic occasion that Wholly H2O hopes will usher in more public awareness\, more coordinated efforts\, and an increase in county-wide support for the Alameda County creeks and the groups supporting them. \nDate: Tuesday\, May 6th \nTime: 7 -9 pm \nLocation: Genetics and Plant Biology Bldg\, Room 100\, University of California\, Berkeley\, CA (Please see the map at the bottom of this announcement – the building is circled in red) \nCost: Thanks to Zeffy\, there are no ticketing fees for anyone. \n\nFirst in Line: First 10 tickets sell for $10.00 each\nEarly Bird: $15.00 (until April 12th)\nGeneral Admission: $25.00 (until event)\nAt the Door: $27.50\nBuy a Ticket for an Intern: $10.00 (Various nonprofits and governmental agencies want to send their interns.
